Here
are some examples of workshops we have run in the past. We are also
able to develop specialist/themed workshops to fit nearly any
requirement.
Fashion Workshop
We provide a workshop in schools where students have a chance to produce stunning garments made from recycled materials. The workshops encourage the students to express their individuality and build confidence
Textile Banner Art (BBC – Springwatch)
We were commissioned by the BBC to create wonderful banner art for the opening of spring watch. This project was run in primary schools allowed children to work together and design wildlife pictures which were then made into small textile art using recycled fabrics and bondweb. The art was joined together and made into large banners for the opening event in Stanmer Park Brighton. Individual pieces of art can be made to cover walls, halls ,tents etc There are many different themes that can be incorporated in to this project.
Experimental Textile Workshops - printing, hand stitching, appliqué, painting and stencil pen art. For this workshop there are many possibilities where textiles can be used from decorating t-shirts, cushions, clothing and canvas bags to be used again and again.
T-shirt Painting
Using textile painting as a basis for self-expression the children will each be able to design and decorate an individual piece of clothing they could then wear on a special occasion.
Wire Sculpture
Reusing old telephone/network cable to create animal’s human forms, faces and the human form. The wire is easy to work with and comes in lovely colours.
Printing Stamps
This fun project gives an opportunity to create your own stamps using foam and card these can then be used again and again in many different ways on fabrics or paper making great-personalised works of art. Wall hangings book coverings and cards using any theme.
